PlayBills/woodblock type.

This is a sample piece of letterpress in a playbill style from Justin Knopp, who runs a press under the name 'typoretum' I really enjoy the ability to combine a variety of typefaces together into a design, the linear placement of the type and variety of character height and width. His blog can be found here which is well worth a read if you have a keen interest of typography, letterpress and print.

Robert Lee of Unicorn Graphics has documented a wide range of woodblock type and borders to view online, really useful as a reference for what is/was available for printpress. The rest of the website doesn't have as much visual impact, but this resource is really good.

Press pieces aswell as original catalogues for upper and lower cases documented, including full typefaces.
