BC - initial development. Logos

Designing a logo/identity for the Beautiful Characters brand I felt should really just be a vehicle for the t-shirt designs, and not over shadow the entire intention of the brand. Having a logo that was a variation on a typeface seemed pretty self explanatory, and to keep the design as close to the original composition as possible. I did this again for the intention of the brand and the visual effect, having an over engineered logo form wouldn't suit well with what was proposed.

The decision to go with Baskerville as the typeface for the logo feels like a good fit with the visual style intended. Particularly with the B and C character forms, it combines a good combination of delicate change in weight, organic curves and solid vertical forms. The choice between lowercase or a combination is still undecided as both are working well. With the introduction of colour this should sort it self out with what would work.
