Visual Armory

I want to expand my fields with typography and explore more type treatments and techniques including more hand rendered type treatments, type as image and calligraphy. I came across a few pieces that came to my attention from Visual Armory, Work by Andy Luce, creating hand rendered inked style type for his personal identity, but produced with rubber stamps for economic and financial benefits.

Using rubber stamps allows for a wider range of colour for design, choices of stock depending on the client, and the ability to recycle existing print for business cards/stationary. Andy also includes 30's/40's styled type work, relevant for brief 1 as wedding invitations.

I love the subtle addition of the third grey colour added to the design, not straight away obvious to the viewer.

Screenprinted, cut and folded all by hand. A really nice mix of serif/sans serif typefaces.
