From the contextual research into slab serif typefaces, a few featured an inner stroke weight to them as a basis to build letterforms off.. from the sketches made I have attempted to devise a structure to work off, and sort of failed.
As a structure for a heavy slab serif typeface, what I have created doesn't work, but as a stand alone typeface, its not too bad I feel.. Possibly my problem is leaning too much towards what has already been created in a similar form for SSK. curved corners, tall standing letterforms and added features to the letterforms to mix things up a little.
as a standalone typeface, it works okay.. but I can't help but think of scifi and space-age type when I read it. Little disappointing, but good piece of experimentation that could work in another context.
